Pure Cinnamon Powder




Botanical Name: Cinnamon zeylanicum

Description
Cinnamon is an evergreen tree which is small and bushy. Dried leaves of cinnamon, along with its dried inner bark are used all over the as a spice or condiment. The bark of a tree is thick, smooth and light or dark brownish in colour. The inner bark is obtained from carefully selected shoots. Ground Cinnamon is a very versatile spice, used in many varieties of dishes. Ground Cinnamon is most popular is sweet dishes, but is also an ingredient in curry powder. t has a pleasing fragrance and a warm, sweet and aromatic taste.

Usage
widely used in Indian cruisine, cinnamon powder is good on: Almonds, Apples, Desserts, Pastries, Rice & Mexican Dishes.

Attributed Medical Properties
It is an effective remedy for common cold. Coarsely powdered and boiled in a glass of water with a pinch of pepper powder and honey, it can be beneficially used in influenza, sore throat, and malaria. Its regular use during the rainy season prevents attacks of influenza. Cinnamon oil, mixed with honey, gives relief from cold. Cinnamon is also used in the treatment of headache. Headache produced by exposure to cold air is readily cured by applying a paste of finely powdered cinnamon mixed in water on the temples and forehead. Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.
